14 June 2020: The Day the State of Disaster Legally Died in RSA — But the Government Kept Going

LFN calls out SA’s unlawful COVID-19 extensions and prepares class action

Excerpt: On 14 June 2020, South Africa’s National State of Disaster (NSD) legally expired — but the government carried on as if it hadn’t. For over two more years, citizens were subjected to lockdowns, mandates, and regulations that, in law, no longer had a valid foundation. Liberty Fighters Network (LFN), who was already victorious in challenging the lockdown regulations back in June 2020, is once again at the forefront — exposing how the Disaster Management Act was ignored, how millions were misled, and how SAHPRA quietly deregistered vaccines without telling the public. In a formal letter (see hereunder) to the new Minister of CoGTA, LFN demands government accountability, the establishment of a public compensation fund, and has given notice that a class action will follow if the truth is not acknowledged.

⚠️ They Lied, We Fought — and We’re Not Done Yet

LFN: The Fighters Who Stood Their Ground from Day One

When the South African government declared a “National State of Disaster” (NSD) on 15 March 2020, Liberty Fighters Network (LFN) didn’t just sit back and accept it. We were the first and only standing voice to take the fight to court — and we won.

On 2 June 2020, just before the three-month NSD was set to expire, the Pretoria High Court declared the lockdown regulations unconstitutional and invalid — a major victory for every person whose life had been turned upside down by government overreach. That ruling sent shockwaves through the legal and political system.

Of course, the government couldn’t accept that. They appealed — and under highly controversial circumstances, that decision was set aside. But the truth had already been exposed, and the public had seen that LFN was willing to challenge the mighty, and win.

🚨 The Expired Disaster No One Wants to Talk About

Fast forward to today: LFN has now formally written to the new Minister of CoGTA, Mr Velenkosini Hlabisa, demanding official confirmation that the NSD legally ended on 14 June 2020, and that all extensions, mandates, and restrictions issued thereafter were unlawful. (Read this letter hereunder)

Let’s be clear: the Disaster Management Act only allowed the NSD to last three months, unless extended for “one month at a time” before it lapsed. But instead of doing that properly, the government simply kept announcing new dates — incorrect ones, mind you — without following the law.

The first flawed extension pushed the NSD to 15 July 2020, even though the legal method of calculating a “month” clearly shows that it should’ve ended on the 14th at the latest. That single error opened the door for two more years of unlawful actions: lockdowns, job losses, vaccine mandates, school closures, you name it.

💉 SAHPRA’s Vaccine Silence — Because of LFN

In mid-2022, LFN launched a separate legal challenge — this time against SAHPRA, the South African Health Products Regulatory Authority. Our goal? To expose what went on behind closed doors with the approval of COVID-19 vaccines.

And guess what?

Since our court application was filed (and still pending), SAHPRA quietly deregistered three out of the four COVID-19 vaccines it had previously approved and the State aggressively promoted. No press release. No media coverage. No explanation.

We’re now demanding the full decision record for those deregistrations. Because the public deserves to know why these same “safe and effective” vaccines were suddenly pulled from the registry after being used to pressure millions into taking the jab — often under threat of losing their job or being excluded from society.

💼 Real People. Real Losses. Real Claims Coming.

At LFN, we’re not just about principles — we deal with real people and real pain.

We have a growing list of at least 300 individuals who were either fired, suspended, or forced into vaccination under duress. Many are now fighting to keep their homes, having lost their income because they didn’t comply with an invalid system built on an unconfirmed disaster.

We believe every person who suffered as a result of the unlawful NSD extensions deserves to be compensated. That’s why we’ve given the Minister until 21 August 2025 to respond — and if they don’t, we’ll be moving ahead with class action litigation on behalf of every affected South African.

🛑 Enough Is Enough

We’re not conspiracy theorists. We’re not politicians. We are ordinary people fighting for the truth, and we’ve been doing so since day one.

This fight was never about politics — it’s about accountability, dignity, and justice. The government told the people one thing, but acted outside the bounds of the law. And now, it’s time to fix what they broke.

If you were affected by the lockdowns, the mandates, or lost your job or health because of what happened after 14 June 2020, you may have a claim and follow us to know when to submit it.

LFN is here to help. And we’re not going anywhere.
