Excerpt: Liberty Fighters Network (LFN) has launched its second major court battle against Agriculture Minister John Steenhuisen — this time over his decision to push through a R70 million Foot and Mouth Disease vaccination campaign for cattle. Just earlier, LFN already took him to court for authorising poultry vaccinations against Avian Flu without public consultation or scientific transparency. Now the Minister has repeated the same unlawful pattern: no records, no peer-reviewed studies, and no chance for South Africans to have their say. LFN argues that this “double vaccine scandal” threatens not just farmers, but every consumer who will unknowingly eat products from vaccinated animals, while government once again hides behind secrecy instead of science.

Liberty Fighters Network (LFN), led by our President Reyno De Beer, has just filed yet another explosive court case against Minister of Agriculture John Steenhuisen. On 16 September 2025, we lodged a High Court review in Pretoria to stop his reckless decision to roll out mass vaccination of cattle against Foot and Mouth Disease (FMD).
If this sounds familiar, it’s because it is. We already have a pending case against the very same Minister for authorising poultry vaccination against Avian Flu without proper consultation, transparency, or scientific backing. Now, only a few months later, Steenhuisen has repeated the same unlawful behaviour — this time spending over R70 million of taxpayers’ money to import 900,000 FMD vaccine doses from Botswana, without a single peer-reviewed local study or full public consultation.
In both cases, the Minister ignored our formal PAJA requests to hand over the decision records. That’s not just arrogant — it’s unlawful. South Africans deserve to know what science, if any, is being relied on before we and our children consume meat and dairy products from vaccinated animals.
We’ve all seen this movie before: during COVID-19 the government forced vaccines on the public, only for SAHPRA to later deregister 3 out of the 4 approved vaccines. Now we’re told to blindly trust Steenhuisen’s latest “science” while no record, no independent studies, and no safety data are being made public.
This case is about more than cattle. It’s about constitutional rights, accountability, and consumer safety. Steenhuisen’s secretive vaccine agenda has now put both our poultry and our beef industry at risk — and LFN is the only organisation standing in court to challenge it head-on.
